Software & Security Updates

Over the last 7 days both Microsoft and Oracle have released updates to Windows and Java.

When asked to update you should do so immediately. There are known security vulnerabilities in both Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 7 and in Oracle's Java which are fixed with these updates.

The Mozilla Foundation, the publishers of Firefox Internet browser have released Version 8.0 today. If you are using earlier versions you should be prompted to automatically update your browser.

Adobe Reader allows you to open and read PDF files. The software company Adobe has released new versions of their PDF reader.

Version 10 is now at V10.1.1

Version 9 is now at V9.4.6

You should upgrade to these new versions immediately.

All Internet Browsers need to be updated because of a security breach in one of the companies that issues security certificates.

The updates for all browsers will invalidate the security certificates and protect you from web sites using these fake security certificates. One of these fake security certificates pretends to be Google, so it is vital you update your browser now.

A new version 6.0 of the Internet browser software Firefox from Mozilla is now available

If you are currently running Firefox you will be asked to upgrade. Here are the release note for the new version 6.0.
