Mozilla have released a new version of their Internet Web Browser Firefox.

Microsoft has released a number of security and other updates for its windows operating systems. These include Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. They have also released security and other updates for it Microsoft Office Products such Word, Excel and Outlook.

When you computer gives you a notification that "Updates are ready for your computer" you should install them all.

The Express install is the recommended method of installation. But should you like to see in detail what is being updated, then choose the custom install.

Adobe Reader allows you to open and read PDF files. The sofwtare company Adobe has released new versions of their PDF reader.

Version 10 is now at V10.1
This is a major update that provides security fixes, feature updates, and major enhancements such as Protected View for Acrobat.

Version 9 as now at V9.4.5
Provides security and bug fixes as well as enhancements to features like collaboration, browser integration and support, signature and forms workflows, etc.

You should upgrade to these new version immediately.

Oracle has released a security update for Java

This free update for Java (Version 6 Update 26) should be installed when you see a notification in a small orange icon (coffee cup) on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and the words "Java Update Available"

Click on the icon and follow the on screen instructions on how to update to the latest version.

Flash Player allows you to view video in your web broswer e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera

If your computer asks you to update to a new version of Flash Player, you should only update using Adobe flash player official update and do not update if a video does not play on a website and that website asks you to do an update.

Microsoft has released security updates for some of their products including Microsoft Office. If a gold shield has appeared in the bottom of your screen beside the clock, click on it and install the updates. If you don't install the updates, your computer may be hijacked and used to send spam or infect your computer and files with trojans and viruses.
