Internet Explorer Version 9 from Microsoft was released on the 14th March. It will not work with Windows XP, it will only work with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Windows XP users should be using Internet Explorer 8. If you are using Internet Explorer 6, then you are using a program that has many security problems. Microsoft have set up a website to encourage people not to use Internet Explorer 6 at ie6countdown.com
Microsoft have a website called beautyoftheweb.com where you can get the latest version of Internet Explorer for your version of Windows.

There are other Internet Browsers:
Mozilla FIREFOX - Latest Version v3.6.15 (New version 4.0 available soon)
Apple SAFARI - v5.04
Opera software OPERA - v11.01
Google CHROME - v10.0.648.134

You can install them all if you need.

The older the windows version you have e.g. Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP, the less choice you have, as many of the new features may only work with the most modern versions of windows software.

If you use Linux or an Apple Mac, Microsoft's Internet Explorer will not work on these computers

Which one is the best is up to you. But do check if the Internet Browser you choose works with your online bank accounts and the Revenue Online Service (ROS).
